Boise State, Peak Broadcasting Welcome Former Bronco Pete Cavender
Kevin Godwin, the senior Vice President and market manager for Peak Broadcasting in Boise, Idaho, in conjunction with Boise State University, named Pete Cavender the Color Analyst for the Peak/BSU Sports Radio Network.
Pete Cavender presently resides in Boise and is a native of Elko, Nev.
The communiqué announcing Cavender was released April 8, 2009, by Kevin Godwin. e. Godwin can be contacted at - Kevin.godwin@peakbroadcasting.com.
According to Godwin, Pete will provide “expert analysis and background commentary.”
Peak Broadcasting Network and BSU will heavily rely on Cavender’s previous experience as a Bronco player to stimulate the radio shows.
Pete as well as his twin brother Jeff both played for the Boise State Broncos football teams between 2003 and 2007.
The Cavenders played for coach Hawkins prior to 2006. In 2006, former offensive coordinator Chris Petersen became head coach.
Both Pete Cavender and his brother Jeff were part of the Broncos win over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl.
Pete Cavender will bring plenty of expertise to his role and will no doubt provide Bronco fans with many proud memories of five straight bowls, which Boise State won two of them (Fort Worth Bowl beating TCU and last the Fiesta Bowl providing heart pounding excitement for both teams and fans everywhere across the nation).
Current Director of Network Affiliate Relations (Peak Broadcasting Boise) and play-by-play announcer Bob Behler stated in the release that he is very excited to be working with Pete Cavender.
Behler went on to say that Pete, “is the kind of person that exemplifies what it is to be a Bronco. Someone who was a good student and athlete.”
Behler also recognized the fact that Cavender’s recent history with BSU will provide “great insight”–to the program and team as a whole.
Boise Idaho is proud of Pete Cavender and the Broncos and Bronco fans look forward to this coming season, which kicks off Sept. 3, 2009 and will be heard on 580/63 KIDO radio and www.KIDOAM.com.
This is the second year that KIDO and Bronco Football have teamed up. What better way to start the year off than to have a former Bronco giving his insight to the game against one of the PAC 10’s best football teams–The Oregon Ducks.
The Boise Broncos played and defeated the Oregon Ducks last year in Eugene, Oregon. This time the Bronco’s are entertaining the Ducks on the “Blue Turf” at Bronco Stadium.
Fans are truly excited about this game and are counting down to the season opener. Go Broncos!
