NYY Lineup Predictions for Wild Card ๐ฎ
The hitters (other than Youkilis and his .625 batting average) are swinging through off-speed pitches where they were looking for fastballs.
Jed Lowrie is 1-for-15 with 7 Ks, and there are actually people on this planet who are hopefully waiting for Julio Lugo to return from the DL. Jacoby Ellsbury has still not gotten the ball out of the infield, J.D. Drew is 1-for-11, and David Ortiz looks like a six-year-old who is afraid of the ball.
But Jason Varitek is still on pace for 81 dingers; Josh Beckett is back to his ass-kicking selfโlike he is in all odd-numbered years; and it's still April, so we know the Sheriff (Dusty Pete) is just warming up.
At some point, all of the rockets the guys have been hitting into people's gloves (look at the sac fly Ortiz hit last night) will start to fall in. One good offensive explosion game at this point in the season is all that we need to turn it around.
