MMA Writer's Tournament Semifinals

Jessy MorrisApr 11, 2009

The controversial article is back, I didn’t want to continue it, but several writers were disappointed that I had stopped the tournament in the middle of it, and they wanted me to at least finish it, so here it is.

We started with 16 of the best writers in the MMA community, a lot of things happened since then, but we now have our top four writers. The four winners of each bracket are ready to collide in the semifinals.

The winner of the first bracket will battle the winner of the fourth bracket while the second will compete against the third. With that said, he is your final four.

Nate Double vs Jessy Morris

Who would have thought that these two writers would be in the final four? Still, they managed to beat tough competition in the previous rounds to make it here.

Nate got more votes then Dorothy Willis in the second round, and what many can call an upset, since Dorothy is the No. 1 ranked writer in our community. Nate does not have any Articles of the Day, but everybody knows that he is one of the best writers.

He doesn’t write a lot of articles but remains active in the community with a lot of comments.

Jessy also advanced in the tournament with a huge victory over Derek Bolender and is still surprised he got more votes. Jessy tries to stay as active as possible on Bleacher Report by writing articles and leaving as many comments as possible. He has one Article of the Day that he earned a while back.

One of these writers advances to the finals, who is it?

Mike Leanza vs Brian Oswald

On the opposite as the two writers above, most people were expecting these two great writers to make it to the semi-finals, but now, only one can advance to the finals.

Mike eliminated Jason Cottier in the last round to advance here. He is a talented writer in all the aspects of writing. He recently published his 50th article with a personal poem that was really good. He has been around for seven months and proved that age had nothing to do with the quality of writing.

Brian Oswald pretty much dominated his way across the two first rounds. He eliminated one of the up and comers of the community in Flyin’ Hawaiin and has been a top five writer for some time now. He has one Article of the Day, 85 articles written and 1853 comments posted, impressive to say the least.

Here they are, the final four. Voting will be the same as always, in the comment section or by e-mail at jessy.morris316@gmail.com
