Chop Chop Corley Gets Robbed on Friday Night Fights
On ESPN's Friday Night Fights, DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley got robbed of a unanimous decision to Hector Sanchez in their eight-round junior welterweight bout.
Corley, who has been in the ring with the best of the best such as Mayweather, Judah, Cotto, Witter, and Mosley, showed he had the experience to back it up.
Almost as interesting as his world class opponents on his resume, Corley decided to come into the ring wearing a Predator mask over his face.
If you did not find this odd, Kenny then mentions to Atlas that Corley wears Victoria's Secret underwear.
Personally, I do not care that Corley wears Victoria's Secret underwear, especially since I am assuming that Victoria's Secret does not make men's underwear?
Corley came out strong, dominated, and showed his veteran experience advantage in rounds 1 and 2.
In round 3 Corley caught Sanchez with a big right hook to his chin knocking him down hard. Corley chased Sanchez around the ring and pounded on him until the end of round, almost ending the fight. I had Corley winning the next two rounds and beginning to fade, but not losing the remaining rounds.
When it came to the judges' decision Corley put his Predator mask back on and Kenny jokingly said he lost the fight because the judges did not like his Predator mask. Corley was clearly robbed of a unanimous decision to Sanchez.
Corley falls to a record of 33(19)-11-1. Sanchez improves to a record of 18(8)-0.
The main event was nothing eventful at all, with Tucson's Ariz., local favorite David Lopez defeating Ossie Duran by unanimous decision in their 10 round junior middleweight bout.
Despite Lopez having 12 losses on his record, there has been talk that Lopez may be a new force in the junior middleweight division and will be aiming for a title next.
Oscar De La Hoya was also sitting ringside to flirt and drop hints that he may or may not continue fighting. Oscar said he has been in the ring but then goes back and says it was for charity.
So basically Oscar wasted everyone's time tonight by beating around the bush and not saying whether he will continue to fight but more so took the opportunity to give publicity to his press conference next week where he will indeed announce whether he will retire or fight on.
Who needs a freaking press conference to announce if they are fighting or retiring? Just keep it REAL, Oscar. If you do fight on, POR FAVOR, be hungry and fight with heart, if not, you must retire.
I really feel bad for your fans if you will rob them again with a half-ass performance just for the love of dinero. I used to be a big fan of Oscar the fighter prior to the Trinidad fight.
I am still a big fan of Oscar the businessman, but enough is enough.
