WWE Draft 2009: What Needs To Happen!!

WWE Wrestlemania is supposed to be the Super Bowl of Wrestling, it is supposed to be the biggest event of the year, it is supposed to represent and showcase hard work, talent and dedication of the company and the wrestlers.

It is SUPPOSED to but I'm afraid this year it failed.

I have been training to be a pro wrestler for six months and believe it or not I would be able to work the match that HHH and Randy Orton put on.

That's how bad it was. These two have had more investment, spotlight, time and focus put on them over the past two months, more so than any other superstar on the roster and yet they fail to deliver even a satisfactory match.

Well im sorry but that is not good enough. The amount of people working in the WWE that would kill to have their spot and rightly deserve it, need to get the focus after the draft on Monday Night as Randy Orton and Legacy has fallen flat.

Many people say that Orton is the best heel there is today. Well if that's so then why do crowds start chants of R K O R K O on Monday Night Raw and very clearly on Wrestlemania.

No I'm afraid the best heel in the business right now is Chris Jericho and he deserved the main event slot and Legacy should have taken on the Legends as Randy Orton is the "Legend Killer." It just makes sense.

But lets look forward instead of backwards. The Draft is this week and if the Internet rumors are to be believed the WWE will be beefing up Raw "the A Show."

Basically what you can expect is to have anyone who has been a success and gotten over on ECW to be drafted to RAW. So expect Bourne, Swagger etc. You can also expect anyone who is not liked by management to be drafted to ECW. Bon Voyage The Brian Kendrick.

What is so funny is that the reason I watch WWE is for the young guys and a select few of the veterans. When HHH has a match I simply skip to the ending as I do with Ortons, and these are the two big guys. Hah!

Hopefully if the WWE has any sense they will use this opportunity to actually SHAKE THINGS UP. What I mean by that is that to actually shape things up and give us new feuds they need to change characters, not just change the characters show.

If John Cena gets drafted to Smackdown, he has probably feuded with everyone already.

If Edge or Undertaker get drafted to Raw, they will have feuded with everyone already. Its as simple as this, the WWE needs to turn at least three of its top upper echelon stars. And as anyone will tell you, you should give the people what they want.

Monday night, CM Punk and HHH were booed. So the logical thing to do is turn them heel especially considering that HHH and Punk are much more comfortable as heels. It just Makes sense. Secondly there are reports that Miz and Morrison are breaking up, due to the draft, but that is the wrong way to break these two up.

If they break up they need to feud between themselves as I believe that there is a four-month feud available between the two which could deliver some incredible PPV matches. Obviously John Morrison needs to be the babyface as it is hard to boo a shooting star press from the top to the outside as we saw him do on Raw.

I can only imagine what his arsenal of moves would be as a babyface.

What I also find funny is how Bourne and Swagger are so good and yet they get left off Mania yet Rhodes and DiBiase are in the Main Event at Backlash.

I am going to call a spade a spade and just say that these two have fallen flat and disappointed since their debut. Rhodes and DiBiase have no Charisma, they look generic and i have yet to see any drive, or innovation from them.

And yet these are the guys who are in the main event? Imagine how guys like Bourne, Jamie Noble and Kendrick feel travelling the world, perfecting their craft, putting on amazing matches and risking their necks to please fans and yet Rhodes and DiBiase get a main event Match simply because of their name and who their "daddys" are.

It's like looking for a promotion at work but the bosses son gets it instead.

There are also several characters that need to be taken out of the spotlight. Off the top of my head Kane, Mark Henry and Finley need to stop being featured in feuds and Pay Per Views rather simply use them to get the younger guys over rather than have them dominate.

I am in no way disrespecting these veterans but merely saying that the their time in the spotlight has changed to being used to put the spotlight on others.

I think once Bourne and Swagger are drafted we can expect Seamus o Shaughnessy and Kaval (Low Ki) called up to fill the gaps in ECW which is great as both men are excellent wrestlers.

As for Jack Swagger and Bourne, I have been more than impressed with the two of them and out of all the young talent the WWE has, these are the two gems and need to be groomed for greatness. I just hope the WWE invests money to actually market these two guys and puts some creative capabilities behind them.

Shelton Benjamin needs to turn babyface as it is simply too hard to boo him with some of the things he is capable of. Move him to Raw and have him feud with Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title and I guarantee we will get some great matches.

Also lets not forget the E in WWE. Entertainment. I personally would love to see an alliance or a feud between Santino and Jamie Noble. Imagine the promos! Now that would be comedy.

Finally a big thanks to the WWE for bringing up Josh Matthews to call ECW with Matt Stryker. This is now my official favourite announce team as I have always been a Josh Matthews fan since his days on Velocity and Matt Stryker continues to impress me aside from his Republican Jabs at Democrats.

So those are some changes that the WWE should make but obviously they wont as after all its WWE. It will be interesting to see what they do though as I think everyone in the locker room knows that the ending to Wrestlemania was one of the Worst ever.
