The Yankees Season Underway: Off with Their Heads!

The Yankees started 0-2 for the first time since 1998.

It is very unfortunate because they went on to win 114 of the next 160 games that season and eventually won the World Series.

Everyone seems to be jumping the gun with the Yankees and many fans do not realize that only the second game of the season just wrapped up. Players have to find their niche, pitchers need to locate their pitches and see what pitches are working well, and the list goes on.

God forbid Mark Teixeira and CC Sabathia have a bad game.That is just not allowed in the MLB, especially the first week of play.

If Sabathia pitched a gem with 10K's, fans would still find something to complain about. Teixeira could be hitting .667 and still have fans jumping down his throat. It is just how it goes.

Now I am nowhere near ready to question the Yankees future for this season because I will take it one game at a time. Maybe we can start worrying when they are 10 games back in July, but two games into the season? No way.

Sure, Chien-Ming Wang had a bad game, CC pitched atrociously, and Teixeira is not living up to his contract.

But guess what? They still have several years left to prove themselves worthy. Four innings or 10 at-bats will not affect anything.

Now I am not trying to rant about all the New York fans who are quick to point fingers. I am just trying to be rational and state the facts.

Fans will be fans and will never be happy with a loss, but to claim the Yankees will be terrible? That's just silly.
