Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk: When Will He Cash It in?
Ok, I may stir up a bit of controversy when I say this, but it needs to be said: Whoever thinks CM Punk winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is a bad move by the WWE, is seriously in need of a brain transplant.
And I'll tell you why. First off, Punk can be considered one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. I know some of you are not fans of him, and that is cool. But to say since you're not a fan, that he cannot be a world champion, you are mistaken.
It makes no sense whatsoever to me, I'm sorry to say.

Also, the WWE has gone PG for all of you who have not yet caught on. Punk represents a great message and one that kids can follow; parents like that and will let them watch, just to see Punk.
Sure John Cena is the ultimate fan favorite for kids, but Punk is just as good.
He does not drink, does not smoke, and does not do drugs: he is straight edge, and that is a great idea for kids to follow. And the WWE likes that fact, so that could be one reason that he could get a nice push, too.
He is a great wrestler, too, so he is not just some guy off the street who cannot wrestle but has a good image.
Some do not like him winning the MITB because he won it last year. I can see that point, but here is why I think the WWE had him win.
Last year, Punk was on "ECW," as we all know. He had been there for a long time. He was a former ECW Champion there and that was just about it.
We saw him get drafted to WWE "Raw," the WWE's flagship show. There he won the Intercontinental Championship and Tag Team Championship. He also cashed in his MITB case on Edge, the World Heavyweight Champion at the time.
He took the world title to "Raw" along with him. He had the championship for about three months. He was just going to be a transitional champion, of which there have been many.
The reason why he did not hold it long was because of the fact he was on "ECW," not as many WWE fans watch "ECW." Ratings show that, and some people from B/R have said they do not watch "ECW."
So that means that Punk did not have much popularity coming from there. He had to go to "Raw" and that would give him the popularity he needed.
Since his arrival to "Raw," his merchandise sales have gone up. This time last year, they were not at the level of guys like Jeff Hardy, John Cena, Triple H, or Randy Orton.
Now his sales are at the same level as all of them, which means more Punk fans are out there. And that is good for the WWE, and Punk, because he does deserve to be pushed.
Sure Christian, Benjamin, MVP, and others could be pushed, too. There are many reason why those men did not win the MITB, which I won't go into.
Punk came out the winner, so fans of those men will have to get over that. The WWE sees this as an opportunity to push Punk, to give him a longer title run possibly, and make him a possible number one guy in the company.
Some say the Punk character is in need of development, that the WWE is not using him as well as they could have. Maybe they know that and are trying to give him the opportunity to make his character better.
Sure he gave great promos in ROH, OVW, and other places. But the fact remains that he is not in those places anymore. I am sure they loved Punk in those places and that is why they brought him to the WWE.
I am sure the WWE knows that fans want to see him back as the character they loved before. So maybe that will happen, but we will have to see.
But what the real question is, where and when will he cash in the MITB briefcase?
Well, obviously it cannot be done the same way as last year, where he cashed it in around draft time. So next week may not be the time it happens.
I see him getting drafted to "SmackDown" where he can shine. Since Vince is wanting "Raw" to be a flagship show with many stars on it, some people like Jeff Hardy, Triple H, and possibly Edge, will go to "Raw."
So by having Punk go there, he could be a No. 1 face on that show. And would be a great world champion.
We could possibly see him take the title from Cena or Edge at Backlash or even Triple H or Orton.
But that seems unlikely.
I see him doing it at a PPV, still but possibly at Summerslam. It would be a good idea because it would be at a big WWE PPV. It is bought by many WWE fans every year and a big deal with the WWE.
Also, it would be unexpected to see him cash it in then. But the title he cashes it in on would need to be the WWE Championship because of its offering the undeniable world title in the WWE.
Also, he cashed it in on the World Heavyweight Championship last year, so seeing him do it on the same belt would be weird.
It could not be on a champion like Cena or Triple H because of them being, well, Cena and Triple H. 'Nuff said.
It would have to be on a guy like Edge or Orton. I see it not being Edge because he cashed it in on him last year.
And if Jericho or Batista win again, he could cash it in on them.
Personally, I think doing it unexpected is better. No one thought he would cash it in when he did last year, so that was a great surprise.
Seeing Punk hold this world title longer would be better, though. And he deserves the main event light again, as he did do very well in it last year, even though he did not hold it long.
I think if they give him a longer reign, give him better promos, and better feuds, he will do well. I think he could win more world titles if he does well here. This is sort of a second chance, so Punk needs to capitalize on it.
I personally think that Punk will cash it in at a big PPV for the WWE. Possibly Summerslam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, No Way Out, or even Wrestlemania.
I have always wanted to see someone hold it until Mania, as you can hold onto it until then.
Also it has to be LIVE, you cannot have Punk win on SmackDown or ECW because it would be no surprise to anyone because of the whole spoiler system we have.
When do you think Punk should cash it in?
