Chris Paul Not in the MVP Talk? Horrible

Pacman JonesApr 7, 2009

What does a MVP trophy define? A player on a team that is valued the most. That without, the team would be garbage.

Let's take the Lakers for example. If you take Kobe out of the lineup, will they still win? Probably, I wouldn't know. I don't watch Lakers basketball. They still have the veterans Gasol, Odom, and Fisher to carry the load though. They could still win a couple games if Kobe is out.

With that in mind let's check out the New Orleans Hornets. Before the Hornets drafted Chris Paul, they were mediocre, irrelevant, finishing as a sub .500 team. Now with him on the team, the Hornets is back on the basketball radar with a chance for a championship.

Notice anything here?

Chris Paul is the New Orleans Hornets. Without him, the Hornets would be back to a sub .500 team being destroyed by top teams. He has molded David West into an All-Star.

He has done almost everything for the Hornets leading the team in scoring, assists, and steals while third on the team in rebounding; which is pretty good when you're only 6'0".

Take a look at the leading stats from the last Hornets game.

Funny, isn't it?

I'm not saying Chris Paul should win the MVP award because LeBron and Wade is having a monster year.

But he should at least be in the discussion. Shouldn't he?
