What Should Have Happened at Wrestlemania
Why?
That's the word that constantly found its way into my head while watching Wrestlemania 25.
Why was the tag team championship preempted? Why did the Jericho vs. Legends angle end with a single punch by Mickey Rourke? Why did CM Punk win the Money in the Bank match again? Why was the HHH vs. Orton match so horrible? Why is Cena the champion again?
Why?
Why do you not seek to blow the fan's minds at the biggest anniversary of the biggest wrestling event of the year?
Sure, there were highlights -- the Money in the Bank match was awesome until the ending. The Hardys blew the roof off the place. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels stole the show. But between those glimmers of amazing wrestling, we had to suffer through Kid Rock and a terribly promoted Divas match.
Changes, there are many.
Open Wrestlemania the same as the Money in the Bank match is always a good start. The boys did a hell of a job beating the crap out of each other.
But as Christian and CM are climbing the ladders, Christian gets the upper hand and is able to release the case. Christian wins the Money in the Bank match.
NO KID ROCK!
The Divas battle royal was horrible, but the ending was perfect. I would have liked to have seen more Molly Holly and Sunny, but what do you do?
Jericho vs. Piper, Snuka, and Steamboat
Worst match of the night. This angle has been going on for months and needs a big finish. The match itself was fine. I had a feeling Snuka and Piper wouldn't be going for very long, and Steamboat was great.
Jechico gets the pin clean and Ric Flair gets involved. Jericho thumps on him for a minute and then calls out Mickey Rourke. Rather than Rourke coming to the ring and ending the angle in one punch, why not let Jericho beat him up too?
From there, I'd like to see the entire 2009 Hall of Fame class come out and give Jericho the beating of his life. A chair shot from Terry Funk and a Stunner from Stone Cold would be a good ending to the angle.
Everyone could share some Coors Light and give Stone Cold a proper in-ring send off.
I wouldn't change a thing with the Hardy match.
Add the Miz/Morrison vs. Carlito/Primo match here.
Mysterio still beats JBL but not in 20 seconds. Love him or hate him, JBL's been at this game for a long time. Give him a memorable last match.
No changes to Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels.
Throw in the HHH vs. Orton match here. Keep the match mostly the same, but much shorter. It was just a lame match in my opinion.
Cena Vs. Edge vs. Big Show was a pretty good match, but I would have totally changed the ending. Edge goes to spear Cena, he moves out of the way and Edge hits Vickie. Edge is stunned and Cena FU's Big Show. As Cena gets up, Edge spears him and gets the pin.
Chavo then enters the ring and hits Edge with a chair. Out of nowhere, Christian shows up fresh off his Money in the Bank win, hands the ref the case, lays down on Edge and gets the pin.
Christian is the new champ setting up one hell of a feud with Edge.
