Where To Next, For The Charasmatic Enigma?
Jeff Hardy is synonymous with WWE. He has a HUGE fan base, thanks largely to his disregard of his own safety and wanting to entertain the fans. He has strived throughout his entire career to obtain the WWE Championship. In every attempt he failed by the smallest margin, until he achieved his dream at Armageddon last december.
The 'Rainbow-Haired Warrior' has won multiple titles and awards during his time in WWE including:
- 7 x Tag Team Champion
- 4 x Intercontinental Champion
- 1 x WWE Champion
- 3 x Hardcore Champion (defunct)
- 1 x European Champion (defunct)
- 1 x Light Heavyweight Champion (defunct)
- Slammy Award for Extreme Moment Of The Year (2008)
- Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) Most Popular Wrestler (2008)
- PWI Comeback of the Year (2007)
- PWI Match of the Year (2000, 2001)
- PWI Tag Team of the Year (2000)
That is a very impressive resume, and all by the age of 31. He still has many more years left in him, but that raises the question, what's left to do?
He's already won a tag, mid card and major WWE championship. He is now having/had a fued with his real life brother Matt. All that's left is to win some of WWE's gimmick matches.
Jeff hasn't competed in the Royal Rumble since 2003, so maybe he'll get a go next year. There's also the MITB, KOTR and Hell in a Cell matches he has yet to win/compete in.
At the top of his list would have to be wrestling Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. Imagine a Hell in a Cell match between them. Swanton Bomb from the roof of the cell!
Jeff could even be given free reign in the land of extreme, ECW.
Whatever Vince decides to do with Jeff Hardy, I'm sure the fans (myself included) will continue to cheer for him. Let's just hope he doesn't do anything to jeopardize his career.
