Wrestlemania 25 Is Over: Now What?

The road to Wrestlemania has come and gone, so what do we have to look forward to now?

One of the side effects of the current format that the WWE uses in building for a whole year towards one show is that once that show is over, it's hard for the WWE and the fans to keep the intensity going.

Wrestlemania is the wrestling business' version of a grand finale, but there's no offseason. No time for the superstars to recharge the batteries. They have to do it all over again starting on the very next night. So much emotion goes into the "Road to Wrestlemania" that it's hard for the superstars to continue giving the fans high quality performances without going into a lull.

There is however a lot to look forward to on the wrestling calendar.

First and foremost is the annual draft. There are any number of possible scenarios that could play out on the night, many of which I'm sure will be the topic of debate on here for the next week or so. I personally would like to see the WWE brands start from scratch and select brand new rosters, but that's just my opinion.

Just a few short weeks after the draft and we’re into another PPV. That is the Wrestlemania hangover known as Backlash. The draft will have to play a huge role in shaping this event, otherwise they might as well call it Wrestlemania 25 part two.

As always, we can expect to see the annual culling of the roster. It usually happens shortly after Wrestlemania each year so you could be led to believe that it's just around the corner (especially with the current economic crisis).

King Of The Ring Tournament

Hopefully the WWE can restore the KOTR tournament to its former glory. Maybe a cash prize?

Extreme Rules

I look forward to this PPV each year because it usually provides some good entertainment, and it's the one night in WWE where it's not just PG crap.

Summerslam

The biggest party of the summer is renowned for hosting some of the best matches in the WWE's history. Last year's Hell In A Cell is a perfect example.

Cyber Sunday

The one time of the year when we, the fans, get to choose the matches. This time around I hope we can vote online again as opposed to last year.

Survivor Series

The team tag matches are classics when done right.

Hopefully we should also see at least one ladder, TLC, and Hell in a Cell match.

Fear not WWE faithful: The year has just started in terms of wrestling events, and there is plenty to look forwards to.
