Manny Pacquiao Tops The Ring Magazine's Pound For Pound Rankings
The Ring Magazine also known as "The Bible of Boxing" in it's most recent issue for the month of May has a painting of Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton on the cover.
On page 13 they have their current up to date Pound For Pound rankings and they are as followed:
1. Manny Pacquiao
2. Juan Manuel Marquez
3. Bernard Hopkins
4. Israel Vazquez
5. Shane Mosley
6. Rafael Marquez
7. Ivan Calderon
8. Ricky Hatton
9. Celestino Caballero
10. Vic Darchinyan
What are your thoughts on this current Pound For Pound list put out by the Ring Magazine? Do you agree with it? What does your current list look like?
Personally I will not say too much on this matter but one must keep in mind that Oscar De La Hoya bought the Ring Magazine so is it a surprise that the list is full of Golden Boy fighters? The top five alone are all Golden Boy fighters with two of them co-partners of Golden Boy. Yes supposedly if you go to the Golden Boy website Manny Pacquiao is listed as a Golden Boy fighter even though we all know he is Bob Arum's current pride and joy under Top Rank.
I am more than happy that my favorite boxer Juan Manuel Marquez is ranked at number 2. But at number 3 Bernard Hopkins? Come on seriously? I would definitely have my man Israel Vazquez higher than Hopkins at number 3.
Where the hell is my man Miguel Cotto at? Come on we all know his only loss came from the plaster of paris hands of a cheating disgrace can't we have him on this Pound For Pound list? Or is it because he is Bob Arum's fighter under Top Rank?
So yes boys and girls I would love to hear your thoughts and your current Pound For Pound list as well.
