Adrian Peterson on RG3's Injury: "Everybody's Body Heals Differently"
Aside from the actual injury itself, the most frustrating part about Robert Griffin III and his rehab attempt to return by the start of next season are the number of people that cite Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and his miraculous recovery from an ACL tear last season.
Well look at Adrian Peterson, man! He tore his knee up and came back to start the season. Finished nine yards shy of the single-season rushing record!
People donโt seem to get it. And it doesnโt take a doctor to understand. This is the second time Griffin has torn the ACL in his right knee.

Peterson spoke with Jeff Darlington of NFL.com regarding the Redskins' young quarterback and their injury comparison.
โThatโs not fair,โ Peterson said from Pro Bowl practice in Hawaii. โEverybodyโs body heals differently. Thatโs something nobody is going to understand.โ
โThis is also a matter of genetics,โ Peterson noted. โLook at my dad. And my momโs side, my aunts and uncles, theyโre all ripped. At 50 years old, theyโve got six packs and eight packs. My body just heals differently. I know it has a lot to do with rehabilitation and work ethicโbut I really credit my genetics for my recovery as much as anything else.โ
Hopefully this helps people understand that, despite tearing anterior cruciate ligaments, the injuries suffered by Peterson and Griffin are different. As are Peterson and Griffin as athletes.
And Iโm still checking to see if RG3โฒs grandma has a six-pack.
