Lance Stephenson's Delay Advantage for Terps?

Baltimore Sun blogger Matt Bracken has the scoop on Lance Stephenson’s waffling and what it may mean for the Maryland Terrapins.

A lot of Terps faithful believe that Stephenson is a self-serving joke and has no business stepping onto a College Park campus. A one-and-done guy with deals lined up from here to Manhattan won’t fit in with Gary Williams style. And that may be true, but it can be argued that Stephenson’s reevaluation of Kansas or Maryland means Gary Williams can breathe a lot easier on the recruiting tip.

They need each other. Stephenson needs a program like Maryland to exhibit his skills against other future pros, and make an impact on a squad that hasn’t lived up to power conference hype. Williams needs Stephenson to prove he can bring in a blue-chip recruit and justify the waiting game revolving around his general underachievement the last few seasons.
