Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid Star Shows off New Nike Boots Video

Karl MatchettJan 17, 2013

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is once more a YouTube sensationโ€”but this time it's not for scoring a spectacular goal.

The Portuguese attacker has been posing for manufacturers Nike and the launch of their new Mercurial Vapor IX football boots, with a suitably swanky-looking video to accompany him.

Ronaldo tweeted a link to his new video from his personal Twitter account, which now has well over 15 million followers. Within just two hours, the video had been retweeted around 2,000 times, giving Nike plenty of exposure to their new goods.

Nike have released two editions of the new Mercurial Vapor range, with established stars including Frank Ribery, Zlatan Ibrahimovicโ€”and Ronaldo himself of courseโ€”receiving the "Fireberry" version, with younger stars having to earn their spurs at present (as per WhoAteAllThePies.com).

Stephane El Shaarawy, Eden Hazard and Brazilian talent Neymar will all receive the second version with a "Sunset" finish.

As if the emblematic swoosh on the front wasn't enough to make you aware of who the boots were made by, Nike have opted to brand them with their own name in bold writing as well.

Judging by the video the new boots will aid an already lightening-fast Ronaldo to showcase his best speedโ€”and finish with aplomb. Not much new there then for La Liga's most-regular shooter, who averages 7.7 shots on goal per game (stats: WhoScored.com).

Ronaldo will be hoping the new design of the boots can fire him to even greater glories during 2013; despite his team winning La Liga last season, Real Madrid are currently adrift of leaders Barcelona and face a tough two-legged battle against Manchester United to progress in the Champions League.

The Real Madrid No. 7 currently has 25 goals from 25 games in all competitions for the Spanish champions.
