Alan Shearer To Return to his Newcastle Home

stuart douchApr 1, 2009

Mark my words, if the story all over the media this morning is true, Newcastle United will stay up this season.

Alan Shearer is a born winner. It did concern me however this morning to hear a reporter outside "Shearer's Bar" in Newcastle say, "Can he win a trophy at Newcastle at last?"

Let's just take a step back for a minute shall we, Newcastle need to survive in the premiership before any of that can happen. If they stay up this year it will be like winning a trophy for the magpies.

The only player Newcastle have in their side that is good enough to help them stay up (apart from Shearer if he put a pair of boots on) is Michael Owen who I would think would be delighted to have hid old England team mate managing him, telling him what a good player he his.

Owen is still capable of netting 10 goals between now and the end of the season. His record for Newcastle is practically one in two, plus he has to impress Capello between now and the end of next season to prove that he should be going to South Africa in 2010. A fit Owen must go.

I genuinely hope the story is confirmed to be true shortly, I am not a Newcatle supporter but I think they must be in the premiership, for the neutrals and the loyal supporters the club have.

Who can forget Schmichael being chipped by Albert at St James Park when they beat United 5-0.

Newcastle must stay up and if they do surely Kinnear will not return and Shearer's managerial career will start, I'm sure the FA Will be keeping a close eye on his progress.
