THN Ranks the Toronto Maple Leafs 28th for Future Prospects!?
Is anyone else a little confused as to why Toronto is ranked 28th?
Well I am!
Sure I know we're no where close to top ten, but one of the more reliable sites on future prospects, Hockey's Future, has Toronto ranked 19th in the NHL.

Why the big gap between rankings?
Easy The Hockey News left out two of Toronto's best prospects.
Namely Jiri Tlusty and Anton Stralman!
So how come Toronto's brightest hopes weren't included into the 'Top Prospects' edition magazine?
Well I suppose one could say that they have been with the big club since before Christmas so aren't they major leaguers now!
Sure I'll buy that, but here's where my big question comes in.
How come Carey Price was voted as the top prospect?
After all he's only played in 37 NHL games this year!
The only way this guy wasn't in the lineup before Christmas was if he had played 37 of the last 41 games!
Bryan Little, and Nick Foligno are two players ranked in the top fifty who have played over 40 games this year for their respective NHL clubs.
Now I know what some of you are thinking, 'You're just a jealous Leaf fan who's sore that his team has pathetic prospects.'
Am I jealous of your prospects, yes! However that's not what I'm ranting about here.
I have no problem with those players mentioned above being named as top prospects. I have no problem with Price named as a top prospect (in fact I believe he deserves it too). What I have a problem with, is that neither Tlusty or Stralman were even put on the Leafs top prospects page!
I don't care if you rank them 19th and 20th on Toronto's prospect depth chart! They still deserve to be mentioned. Any two rookies who have played in more than half of their teams games to date deserve to be mentioned.
If you're going to have Price and the others up there than at least make it fair for all teams and have their top prospects up there as well.
As a final note I would just like to add that I believe Hockey's Future has ranked Toronto a little high. I personally would rank them 24th not 19th, but that's just my opinion. Also Tlusty and Stralman have played 53 and 45 games respectively this year their rookie year.
If any of your team's top prospects have been short shafted from The Hockey News in this Top Prospects edition please comment and say who they are below.
