Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Potential Zaha Deal Right Move for Red Devils

Jonathan IrwinJun 7, 2018

The Mirror Online reported today that Manchester United is near the final stages of securing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha with a £12 million package. While it's a hefty sum, it's a smart move by the Red Devils.

Man U blew away competing teams with it's lofty transfer fee, and they have even offered to loan Zaha back to Palace.

Sir Alex's biggest competition for the striker was Arsenal and Arsene Wegner, but it seems the Gunners have no intention of matching the Red Devil's offer—which should be rubber-stamped in a few days.

Man U wouldn't have made such an aggressive attempt for Zaha unless they really liked what the youngster had to offer. And what's not to like?

The lanky 20-year-old has quickness that makes him a force when going one-on-one. In his own way, he's a one-of-a-kind player.

Zaha exudes raw talent. He has amazing foot control and balance. Even more amazing is the speed at which he's able to move the ball around.

He also has a bit of defensive ability in him, which you won't see from many wingers these days.

While Zaha is still young, he has a mature and well rounded style to his play. At one point, Palace was so high on him they said they wouldn't transfer him for £20 million, so I guess it's a good thing they changed their mind.

Zaha has already received a call-up in his career, so he has some experience at the next level.

But he's still young, and he will need some time to make an impact with Man U. But in time, he has the ability and talent to take over as a leading front man.

While Sir Alex pulled out all the stops in acquiring this young man, it makes plenty of sense. Given some time, Wilfried Zaha will be a force to reckoned with.

Which makes this not only a smart move, but also the right move for Man U.
