Tiger Woods Creates National Crisis with Probable, Improbable Victory
Tiger Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the 72nd hole of the tournament yesterday. If you watch golf on television, you probably thought it was pretty awesome. If you donโt watch golf, youโre wondering why you should continue reading this column. I will provide the answer: You should continue reading this column because the win has made this place go bananas. Not bananas, but go bananas.
The win was the fifth of Woodsโ career at Bay Hill, a place that sounds like itโs under water. It ended on a championship putt from 25 feet away just as it did in 2008. As previously stated, Tiger won the tournament in similar fashion a year ago. The difference, however, can be traced to the post-putt celebration. In 2008, Woods emphatically slammed his cap into the green. Yesterday, he jumped into the arms of his caddy, Steve Williams.
