2 Problems the New Brooklyn Nets' Coaching Staff Must Fix

P. J. Carlesimo has been in charge of guiding the Brooklyn Nets since the team let go of Avery Johnson, and he has done a fine job so far. 

The Nets have five wins in six games under Carlesimo and they have received some better play from their star players. But there are still a number of issues that the Nets coaching staff needs to address. 

Let's take a look at what the "new" Nets coaching staff needs to address moving forward. 

Get Joe Johnson More Involved

Since P.J. Carlesimo took over, Joe Johnson has improved. 

Johnson is averaging 22 points in three games in January and is shooting over 50 percent. The shooting guard has proven to be one of the league's best during the past few seasons and the Nets coaching staff has to give him more opportunities to shoot the basketball.

Deron Williams

We have all seen it, watched it and heard it: Deron Williams is struggling this season. The point guard has not been living up to the huge expectations that were placed on him this season, but things are slowly starting to come around. 

Williams had a great game to start off the new year after he dropped 19 points and dished out 13 assists in a win over Western power Oklahoma City. His play has allowed this team to win five out of the last six games, and he has the team sitting just 4.5 games out of first place in the Atlantic division. 

If Williams can continue to improve as the season continues, the Nets will be a force in the East as expected.
