Updated NFL Playoff Picture After Wild Card Round

The NFL's playoff field will narrow by four teams by the end of Sunday's Wild Card Round games, leaving just eight teams to duel for the game's biggest prize. 

Below, we run down each of the advancing scenarios for the 12 NFL teams still alive. When games go final this weekend, we'll update each team for its specific divisional round matchup.

In the meantime, we have the potential opponents each team could face in the next round and how each scenario could unfold.

National Football Conference (NFC)

1. Atlanta Falcons (13-3)

Wild Card Opponent: N/A, first-round bye

Divisional Round Opponent: The Falcons will host the Seattle Seahawks.

2. San Francisco 49ers (11-4-1)

Wild Card Finish: N/A, first-round bye

Divisional Round Opponent: The 49ers will host the Packers. 

3. Green Bay Packers (11-5)

Wild Card Finish: Win vs. Minnesota Vikings, 24-10

Divisional Round Opponent: Green Bay will travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. 

4. Washington Redskins (10-6)

Wild Card Finish: Loss vs. Seattle Seahawks, 14-24

Divisional Round Opponent: The Redskins have been eliminated from the 2012-13 playoffs.

5. Seattle Seahawks (11-5)

Wild Card Finish: Win at Washington Redskins, 24-14

Divisional Round Opponent: Seattle will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons. 

6. Minnesota Vikings (10-6)

Wild Card Finish: Loss at Green Bay Packers, 10-24

Divisional Round Opponent: The Vikings have been eliminated from the 2012-13 playoffs. 

American Football Conference (AFC)

1. Denver Broncos (13-3)

Wild Card Opponent: N/A, first-round bye

Divisional Round Opponent: The Broncos will host the Baltimore Ravens. 

2. New England Patriots (12-4)

Wild Card Opponent: N/A, first-round bye

Divisional Round Opponent: The Patriots will host the Houston Texans. 

3. Houston Texans (12-4)

Wild Card Finish: Win vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 19-13

Divisional Round Opponent: The Texans will travel to New England to take on the Patriots. 

4. Baltimore Ravens (10-6)

Wild Card Finish: Win vs. Indianapolis Colts, 24-9

Divisional Round Opponent: The Ravens will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos.

5. Indianapolis Colts (11-5)

Wild Card Finish: Loss at Baltimore Ravens, 9-24

Divisional Round Opponent: The Colts have been eliminated from the 2012-13 playoffs.

6. Cincinnati Bengals (10-6)

Wild Card Finish: Loss at Houston Texans, 13-19
