Director James Toback attempts to delve into the mind of one of the most insanely entertaining figures of our time, no pun intended. According to the Times Online, the documentary is a mix of, “archive footage with a series of revealing interviews with Tyson, and only Tyson, the documentary reveals that the boxer has lost more than $300 million in the last few decades and sees the boxer admit he once sought to conquer and possess the women in his life.” How can you not want to see that?
Mike Tyson was the youngest heavy-weight champion in the history of boxing, at the age of 20. With nicknames that include “Kid Dynamite,” “Iron Mike,” and the “Baddest man on the planet”, Tyson became well known in the boxing world after winning his first 19 bouts by way of the knockout (12 of which came in the first round).
After completing a three year prison sentence for rape, Tyson attempted a series of comeback fights.
Iron Mike would go on to regain a portion of the title belt before eventually losing it to Evander Holyfield in 1996.
After the incident with Holyfield’s ear in 1997, Tyson would go on to lose two consecutive times via knockout by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, forcing him into retirement 2005.
Tyson declared for bankruptcy in 2003 despite earning over $300 million dollars during the course of his career. Un-real.
