January Transfer Window: Tracking Juventus' Latest Rumours, Updates and Signings

Gianni VerschuerenJun 7, 2018

Bleacher Report is your source for all news relating to Juventus during the January transfer window! All month long we'll be updating this article with the latest news surrounding Juve's transfer targets.

Read on to find out which players are being linked to the Bianconeri, and how close they may be to signing.

Update: Ciro Immobile

1 of 8

Status: Negotiations ongoing

Quick analysis of the player: Immobile is currently co-owned by the Bianconeri, along with Genoa, the team he's representing in 2012-2013. A former youth international, the Italian is a typical in-the-box striker that previously failed to live up to his potential in Turin, but seems to have blossomed in Genoa.

Reported fee: Juve are willing to buy Genoa's share of the player for 4.5 million.

Latest News: Goal.com reports Immobile would be the alternative should the Bianconeri not be able to sign Llorente. Football-Italia.net claims that Genoa has no interest in parting with the player.

Federico Peluso

2 of 8

Update: Status: Signed

Quick analysis of the player: Peluso is an experienced defender who can play either on the left side of a defense or at the left centre-back position in Juve's 3-5-2. He provides excellent depth from the bench and is a dependable backup for both the injured Giorgio Chiellini and Kwadwo Asamoah, who will be representing Ghana at the African Cup of Nations.

Reported fee: €1.5 million in a loan deal, which could be made permanent in the summer for another €3.5 million.

Latest news: Football-italia.net quotes Corriere dello Sport: Peluso is "on the verge of joining the Bianconeri."

Update: Juventus.com is reporting Peluso has undergone his medical, so the announcement of his signing should come very soon.

Final update: Official statement from Juventus.com. Peluso is now a Bianconeri. Welcome Federico!

Doria

3 of 8

Status: Very close to signing

Quick analysis of the player: Doria is a highly-rated young defender from Brazilian side Botafogo. He exploded onto the scene in 2012 and has greatly impressed with his excellent vision and great physique. He's a long-term project player, but has the look of a future star.

Reported fee: Between €8-10 million.

Latest News: 101Greatgoals.com is reporting this is pretty much a done deal, and Juventus should make an official announcement in the coming week.

Fernando Llorente

4 of 8

Status: Negotiations ongoing

Quick analysis of the player: A member of the Spanish national team that won both the last World Cup and European Championship, Llorente is a big forward with surprising technical abilities and an excellent nose for goals. He is unhappy at his current club, and his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Reported fee: Juve's latest offer is rumoured to be €7 million.

Latest news: Goal.com is reporting Juventus have made an improved offer to Athlétic Bilbao, and this would be the team's final offer.

Update: Goal.com is reporting that Athlétic Bilbao have confirmed Juventus is talking to Llorente about a deal that would see the Spaniard join the Bianconeri in June on a Bosman. That would suggest the January-deal is now dead.

My prediction that Llorente would be moved in January seems to be wrong. It seems absurd that Bilbao will just allow their star player to walk for free.

Update (2): Goal.com reports Juventus are still working on bringing Llorente to Turin in January.

Update: Giuseppe Rossi

5 of 8

Status: Signed with Fiorentina

Quick analysis of the player: Once regarded as the future of Italian football, Rossi has seen the last two years of his career go down the drain battling multiple injuries to the same knee. His value has dropped considerably and his team, Villarreal, has been demoted from the Spanish La Liga.

When healthy, Rossi was a very skillful poacher with tremendous goalscoring potential. If a team is willing to be patient with him, he could return to form and become a contributor in the second half of 2013.

Reported fee: Juventus want a loan offer, but the competition is reportedly making an offer in the 4-5 million range.

Latest news: Goal.com claims Juventus will battle bitter rivals Fiorentina for his signature.

Update: Rossi has officially signed with Fiorentina (per Goal.com)

Update: Didier Drogba

6 of 8

Status: negotiations ongoing

Quick analysis of the player: Drogba needs no introduction. The big, powerful striker left Chelsea on a high last summer, winning the UEFA Champions League final, but he is unhappy at his current club. The Drogba-to-Juventus rumours have been going on for quite some time now.

Reported fee: three million euro.

Latest news: Domenica Sportiva (per Goal.com) quoted Beppe Marotta saying the team was "exploring the possibility of luring Drogba to Turin"

Update: Corriero dello Sport are reporting a deal is close.

Luis Muriel

7 of 8

Status: Early negotiations

Quick analysis of the player: A young centre-forward with a lot of room to grow, Muriel is slowly being prepared for the big stage of the Serie A by Udinese. He knows how to put the ball in the back of the net and has excellent physical tools on top of a nice bag of trickery.

Reported fee: Udinese are interested in some kind of swap-deal for promising youngster Richmond Boakye.

Latest News: Goal.com broke the news, but this deal is in a very early stage and Juventus are not expected to be too keen on letting Boakye walk.

Lucas Mugni

8 of 8

Status: Juve are ready to make an offer

Quick analysis of the player: Another signing for the future, Mugni is a classic midfielder with excellent vision for such a young player. His ability to find the open man is incredible and the potential is plain to see. Mugni looks like a natural heir to Andrea Pirlo.

Reported fee: €2.7 million

Latest news: Another exclusive from Goal.com, Juventus will battle AC Milan and Catania for his signature.
