Top 25 Most Memorable WrestleMania Moments of All Time

The historic 25th Wrestlemania is only days away and with so many memorable moments I put together the top 25 moments in Wrestlemania history.

(25). W.M. XIX- Brock Lesenar's Shooting star press goes wrong.

Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Title against VS Kurt Angle. During this match Brock Lesnar attempted a Shooting Star press off the top rope (which he perfected all week in practice) and didn’t fully flip and he landed straight on his head.

Lesnar went on to shake that off and retain his WWE Championship.

(24). W.M. VII- Virgil defeat The "Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiases.

After years of being in the shadow and as The Million Dollar Man's shadow Virgil got his chance to get back at him after all the years of being pushed around.

The match ended by Rowdy Roddy Piper pulling down the rope on Ted DiBiases when the Ref wasn't paying attention and that knocked him out causing him to lose by count out.

(23). W.M. II- William “Refrigerator” Perry Cost Big John Studd in the NFL VS the WWE Battle Royal.

After Big John Stud eliminated "The Fridge", William Perry got even by pulling out Studd over the top rope and costing him a chance to win the match.

(22). W.M. IV- Andre The Giant Chokes Bob Uecker.

During a pre-match interview the famous Baseball announcer Bob Uecker was guest interviewing Andre The Giant.

Andre had his hand on Bob's shoulder during the interview and Uecker made the joke "Get you foot of my shoulder" which upset Andre and he picked up Bob Uecker by his neck with both hands while chocking him.

(21). W.M. X7 Shane McMahon goes Coast to Coast on Vince McMahon.

This was of the most hardcore matches ever involving the McMahons as the Father and Son combo squared off. The most remembered part is when Shane went from one corner of the ring to the other to hit the Coast to Coast with a trash can on his Father Vince.

(20). W.M. VII- Jake The Snake Vs Rick Martel in a Blindfold match.

The stipulation in this match was a blindfold because a few weeks prior Rick Martel sprayed perfume into the eyes of Jake Roberts’s eyes temporary blinding him. Jake stalked Martel the whole match and finally found The Model for his patented DDT for the victory.

(19). W.M. XVI- Kane Tombstones Pete Rose.

Former MLB great Pete Rose was the special ring announcer for the Kane VS The Undertaker match. Pete decided to have some fun with Boston fans and took too long for introduction which had Kane come out and give Pete a Tombstone Pile driver.

(18). W.M. VIII- Warrior Aids Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan was having a match against Psycho Sid and was about to win when Papa Shango came out to ringside and caused a disqualification. Sid and Papa Shango continued to beat Hulk Hogan when to the shock of everyone (including) Hogan The Ultimate Warriors music hit and he helped out the Hulkster and cleaned house.

This was a huge surprise since The Warrior wasn’t seen by the fans in months prior.

(17). W.M. 2000- Jeff Hardy does a huge Swanton Bomb on Bubba Ray off a huge ladder.

This match was a three team Tag Team Championship match between Edge and Christian, the Dudley’s and The Hardy’s. At one point in the match Jeff Hardy finds an Extremly large ladder and Bubba Ray Dudley is on the receiving end of a Swanton Bomb off the ladder through a table.

(16). W.M. 13 Bret Hart makes Stone Cold passes out.

In a submission match Bret Hart faced “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in a Submission match with UFC Fighter Ken Shamrock the special guest Referee.

A bloody Stone Cold refused to tap out as Bret Hart had in in the Sharpshooter for several minutes which cause him to pass out and for Bret Hart to get the win.

(15). W.M. III Hulk Hogan Slams Andre The Giant.

During a very tough WWE Championship match Hulk Hogan made the record breaking crowd at the Pontiac Sliver dome go crazy when he Body Slammed the Giant and hit the Leg Drop to get retain the gold.

(14). W.M. XIV Mike Tyson Betrays HBK

As WWE Champion Shawn Micheals Defended his gold against Stone Cold Steve Austin HBK believe he had the deck stacked as he and DX seemed to have the special enforcer for the match Boxer Mike Tyson on his side.

At the end of the match the referee got knocked out and Stone Cold got the Stunner and Tyson quickly counted the 1,2,3 to crown Steve Austin the NEW WWE Champion.

When HBK had gotten up and realized what happened he got in Mike Tyson's face and Tyson had enough as he gave Shawn a right hand that knocked him out cold.

(13). W.M. I “Cowboy Bob” Orton Cost’s “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff with his cast to cause the loss.

 In the very first Wrestlemania main event Hulk Hogan and Mr. T (w/ Jimmy Snuka) opposed Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper (w/ Bob Orton).

While the Referee was distracted Bob Orton tired to hit Mr. T with his cast that was on his arm but he missed and hit Orndorff. This aloud Hulk Hogan to get the pin and the win for the team.

(12). W.M. X Owen Hart beats Bret.

With an ongoing Brotherly rivalry Owen Hart squared off vs Bret Hart. At the end of the match Owen shocked everyone as he countered Bret's victory roll attempt to get the pin for the huge upset.

(11). W.M. XX Eddie Guerrero congratulates Chris Beniot after Beniot became World Champion.

Chris Benoit defeated HHH and HBK to win his First and only WWE World Championship. After the match he was congratulated by WWE Champion and best friend Eddie Guerrero as they were both at the top peek in the WWE at the time.

(10). W.M. V The Mega Powers face off for the WWE Championship.

Hulk Hogan faced off against WWE Champion and former friend “Macho Man” Randy Savage for the gold. Savage felt that Hulk Hogan was trying to steal Miss Elizabeth away from him which led the buildup of this match. 

This was a Classic back and forth matches at the Trump Plaza that in the end crowns a NEW WWE Champ in Hulk Hogan.

(9). W.M. III Pontiac Sliver Dome Record.

This great Wrestlemania featured Andre VS Hogan and also included the great Steamboat VS Randy Savage match. The record amount of people to witness and be lucky enough to be in the house was 93,173 people.

(8). W.M. VI. Andre The Giant's last WM and Andre turns on Bobby The Brain Hennen.

In what would be his last Wrestlemania he would wrestle the great Andre The Giant was enraged when he and partner Haku lost the Tag Team Titles to Demolition. Andre then showed disgust with long time manager Bobby Henna and layed out his long time associate out cold.

(7). W.M. IX. Hogan defeats Yokozuna in an impromptu match.

Yokozuna had just beat Bret Hart after he was blinded by salt by Mr. Fuji and then Bonzi Dropped. Hulk Hogan then came down to defend Bret Hart then Went into the ring and challenged Yoko to a match.

Right as the match stared Mr. Fuji missed Hogan with the salt and instead got it into the eyes of Yokozuna. Hogan then knocked Yokozuna Down and got The Leg Drop for the shocking win.

(6). W.M. X. Shawn Micheals VS Razor Ramon in a Ladder Match for The WWE Intercontinental Title.

This match revolutionized The Ladder Match. The most memorable part of the match is when HBK splashed Razor of the top of the ladder. This match was one for the ages as Razor Ramon came out the victor.

(5). W.M. VI. Hulk Hogan VS The Ultimate Warrior Title For Title.

This was a long grueling match for the ages as The Immortal Hulk Hogan Did battle with and defended his WWE Championship VS The WWE Intercontinental Champion in a winner take all match. 

At the end of the match had Hogan went for The Leg Drop and missed and The Warrior to quick advantage by hitting a Splash to pin Hogan for the win. After the match Hulk Hogan presents the WWE title to The Ultimate Warrior as a true show of sportsmanship.

(4). W.M. III WWE Intercontinental Title Match Mach Man Randy Savage VS Ricky The Dragon Steamboat.

This is arguably the best I.C. title match not only in Wrestlemania history, but of all time. This was a very long match as fans remember this match for the great back in forth action along with the very great wrestling involved in this bout.

Ricky Steamboat in the end rolls up Macho Man for the win and becomes the NEW Intercontinental Champion in front of the sold out record crowd at the Pontiac Silver dome in Detroit Michigan.

(3). W.M. XII Shawn Micheals VS Bret Hart in a 60 minute Iron Man Match for The WWE Title.

This classic rivalry between Bret "The Hitman" Hart and "The Heart Break Kid took it to new heights at the main stage of the all at Wrestlemania. HBK made a grand entrance as he came from the roof of the sold out crown on a zip-line down to the ring.

This match had to have Sudden Death Overtime as HBK connected with Sweet Chin Music to defeat Bret Heart and become the WWE Champion for the first time in his illustrious career.

(2). W.M. X7 The Rock VS "Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

This dream match put together one for the ages and The Rock and Hulk Hogan both were not expecting the crowd to be so mixed for this match. (Hogan was a heel at the time) The Icon vs Icon match ended with The Rock surviving this very tough and physical match.

After the match Hogan and The Rock embraces as this match would bring back the Red and Yellow of Hogan very soon after as Hulkamania was reborn.

(1). W.M. X7 Stone Cold joins forces with Mr. McMahon.

This was the biggest shock to me because no one saw this coming. The Rock Defended his WWE Title against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

When the referee was out this gave Mr. McMahon the chance to come down to ringside and he did the unthinkable by handing Stone Cold a chair and helping Stone Cold win the WWE Championship and doing the unthinkable by aligning himself with his former No. 1 rival Stone Cold Steve Austin and shocking the wrestling world.

With so many Wrestlemania moments to choose from it was difficult to come up with just 25. With many more Wrestlemainia's in store for us I can't wait to see more history in the making as Wrestlemania always delivers the best matches and the best world class wrestling talent in the world.
