Power Ranking UFC 155's Main Card Fights

Riley KontekJun 7, 2018

The pay-per-view that is UFC 155 should be a great one due to the star power and implications that the fights may have in terms of the title pictures in a couple of divisions.

There are two middleweight bouts that could push a fighter into title contention, as well as a lightweight fight that could put either Jim Miller or Joe Lauzon back into the picture.

Here is a power ranking of the main card fights.

Chris Leben vs. Derek Brunson

1 of 5

Chris Leben was set to make his long-awaited return against Czech wrestler Karlos Vemola, but now he will instead take a fight on short notice against Strikeforce veteran Derek Brunson.

On most cards, this fight would be toward the top of the power ranking. However, with all the top of the division fights taking place, this fight leads off the rankings.

Tim Boetsch vs. Costa Philippou

2 of 5

Middleweights Tim Boetsch and Costa Philippou are both toward the top of the division, and this fight has the chance to be great.

However, Boetschcan use his wrestling skills to make this an ugly fight with Philippou. He will likely grind Philippou and use his strength to hold him down, which will make this a potentially boring fight.

Otherwise, this could be a slugfest.

Jim Miller vs. Joe Lauzon

3 of 5

The co-main event between Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller has the chance to be an amazing fight.

By that, I mean it is guaranteed to deliver.

Both men are great grapplers with solid striking. Wherever they choose to contest this fight, it will surely dazzle the crowd.

Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami

4 of 5

This fight between Alan Belcher and Yushin Okami is a big middleweight bout, as it is a rematch that could put Belcher into the top of title talks.

Belcher and Okami are both among the cream of the crop at 185. Belcher is really coming on now, but Okami has always been a top guy.

This fight could be ugly, or it could be great. Either way, implications are high.

Junior Dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez

5 of 5

The Heavyweight Championship is easily the best fight that is on the card. Both Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez are going to draw high numbers and bring excitement went them.

Both have heavy hands and many people wonder if dos Santos can stop Velasquez's shot.

We will find out at UFC 155.
