WM 25: The Worst Wrestlemania Ever

Daris BrownMar 26, 2009

We're less than two weeks away from what should be the greatest Wrestlemania to date, yet the show is not living up to the hype.

I mean, this is the "silver anniversary" people. We should be so excited with anticipation, yet, the card would look more like a great pay-per-view if it were titled Summerslam or Survivor Series, not Wrestlemania.

Yes, the Randy Orton IED storeyline is compelling one week, but then it's unrealistic the next. As Ray put it, there should be no reason why Triple H could manhandle all three members of Legacy, no matter how mad he is over his wife getting hurt.

Add in the fact that we've seen these two go at it dozens of times, and the viewers are left feeling they've been hit with deja vu.

What else do we have to look forward to on the card? Money In The Bank? Who in there do I want to see win the world title? Surely not Mark Henry. CM Punk's been there, I'm bored with that. Christian? His debut was wasted; he could've debuted on a live Raw and received a better response. So, I'm not hyped about this in the slightest.

This takes me back to my original question, why hasn't the WWE done more to hype this show?

Why not bring us matches we've never seen before? We've seen Hardy versus Hardy and that storyline hasn't been captivating since Matt cut his promo.

On it's silver anniversary the WWE should be introducing all of the gold. Why not bring back the cruiserweight belt and let those guys shine? A battle between Mysterio, Evan Bourne, Jeff Hardy, and Tyson Kidd would be a great way to kick off the show.

And since most people aren't too pleased with the WWE's version of ECW, why not reintroduce the Hardcore belt as a second tier belt on ECW? Just think about Tommy Dreamer going into battle against Mark Henry and DJ Gabriel. Add in Matt Hardy and Mike Knox for a great group of guys looking to put their bodies on the line for a shot at stardom.

WWE ,please, if you're going to have Steamboat come back for a match, it has to be against Ric Flair. Yeah, Ric's "retired" but this would be a great exception to have him jump back into the ring. This three-on-one match with Jericho is a waste of space.

After much lobbying from my co-hosts, I'm now okay with the tag title match, so keep that.

But let's give the IC title the respect it deserves by putting MVP's belt on the line against "The" Brian Kendrick or a returning Batista.

I'd love to see Triple H versus Edge in a title versus title or a loser leaves the brand match.

There are so many ways to go, but there needs to be something special. What does the WWE have in store for us? I hope there is something bigger that's currently seen on paper.
