Why March Madness Is the Best Time of Year

As you look out your window, you might notice that flowers are growing, the sun is shining, and people seem to be just a little bit happier. There is a reason for this. Not only is spring time coming around, but so is March Madness.

Many students aspire to play division one basketball, but since such dreams are very hard to reach, the next best thing is to be a dire-hard fan of the school of your choice. There is nothing better than jumping out of your seat in front of the television as Duke pulls away with another win.

The cheers that come from students who attend the universities which are apart of March Madness are ever-present. Viewers can see Syracuse fans bleed orange and scream at the top of their lungs as their team scores another three pointer.

There can only be one explanation as to why students and alumni go absolutely crazy over March Madness and the reason is this: When it comes to college basketball, each fan becomes an expert. Each die-hard fan knows everything there is to know about the team, and thus, are able to debate with his or her friends as to why his or her own team will win. Each fan becomes an expert in the field of college basketball, which brings out the competitive nature in extreme fans.

Another reason why people love March Madness and do not watch anything else on television during this time is, well, they can’t. March madness is everywhere! Essentially every sports channel covers the games, so as you flip through your channels, there is an excellent chance that a game will appear on your screen.

March Madness is a phase which many people look forward to encounter. Just as adults scurry to work in the morning, just as students take the bus to school everyday, March Madness junkies rush to their television sets each day, in time to watch the tip off. March Madness is just another enjoyment in this ever changing world.
