Andray Blatche For Joakim Noah?

Jarrett CarterMar 24, 2009

I’ll just make this really simple. The Washington Wizards are bad on several levels. Primarily, injuries to Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood make them bad, which leads to Andray Blatche making them worse.

Yes, specifically Andray Blatche.

I don’t care if he had a double-double in last night’s loss. Blatche has to be one of the worst offensive players in the NBA allowed to make offensive moves. He has no ability to dribble, no ability to create his own shots, and no idea how to make his gangly body go where his scattered brain wants it to. On two occasions while watching the game, I literally yelped out “What are you doing, Blatche?” Not on purpose, it was just reactionary.

Last night, Joakim Noah had about four blocks in a third quarter that allowed the Wizards to lose a close home game against the Chicago Bulls. The majority of those blocks were against Andray Blatche and his intolerable offense.

So why not go trade the town idiot who thinks he can score but can’t, for the used-to-be town idiot who could care less about scoring and just wants to win? There’s no more question about the Wizards not having a defensive stopper, with or without Haywood in the middle. And for someone who knows how to clean up the errant shots thrown up by Antawn Jamison and the soon-to-return Arenas, the Wizards offense would be a lot more comfortable.

Plus, Noah gives much better interviews and hasn’t been shot.

Ernie Grunfeld, please consider this humble request. Not for me, or for Wizards fans, but because you really hate Chicago and only you can sell them on Blatche’s “upside” and “potential.”

Cause’ it certainly ain’t happening here.
