Why Are the Philadelphia Eagles Not In the Talks For Braylon Edwards?
I am not sure how you guys are feeling, but I am damn-near pissed or say disappointed that I have not heard the Eagles offer anything for Braylon Edwards.
We have 12 drafts picks, which all Eagle fans know we will not use everything, and we are one of the teams with the most money under the salary cap. Not to mention, our owner just became a billionaire, so why is Braylon not yet in an Eagle's uniform?
I will be the first to tell you that I did not want T.J. Houshmandzadeh , Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, Terrell Owens, or so-called "Big Bum Receivers" from the Jacksonville Jaguars and company, because I thought none of them were an upgrade to our current wide receiving core.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
You can check my comments here, but I have been an avid backer of getting Edwards and Anquan Boldin for the simple fact that they are, or can be elite receivers.
I used the argument that if Edwards was focused, he can be mentioned in the same lines as Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson.
In 2007, he was second only to Randy Moss in TD receptions with 16, which is a lot of production for a wide receiver.
His flaws are his dropped passes but that can be worked on.
People should remember that T.O. used to lead the league in drops, but everyone knows he is one of the best wide receivers to play the game of football if you take out his attitude.
Andy Reid said he is happy with our current wide receivers and I am here to tell you I am not.
One thing that scares me is if DeSean Jackson or Kevin Curtis gets injured.
Every single one of our wide receivers got injured this past season where they had to miss a game or more and what happens if that is Jackson?
Can you imagine that?
Also, everyone has been saying Jackson is the next Steve Smith, but let us not be the first to anoint him that. He still has a lot to prove first before we give him that.
We can say our defense is fixed at this point, but our offense is lacking in so many areas namely left tackle, running back, tight end, and wide receiver.
With the Giants offer, Edwards will not cost a first round pick, which is good news so we can use our two first round picks on a left tackle and a running back.
Brandon Pettigrew is the best all around tight end, which I agree with, and it will be nice if the Eagles got him, but the fact of the matter is if you can get a great O-line (our line is almost great, the only piece missing is a solid left tackle), we would not need a blocking tight end like everyone is clamoring for.
Also we just got Leonard Weaver so how many people do you need blocking for Donovan McNabb or Brian Westbrook?
Five guys on the offensive line plus a full back and a receiver (seven players in total just blocking.)
I do not know about you guys, but when Brent Celek replaced L.J. Smith when he was injured and played towards the end of the season and playoffs, he proved to be capable of starting at tight end and can play here for a long time.
He had ten catches in the NFC Championship game and two touchdowns says a lot about you being a starter.
There is nothing wrong in having two No. 1 receivers.
The Rams had Isaac Bruce and Holt.
The Cardinals have Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald.
We can have Jackson and Edwards.
There is no way teams will stack eight in the box to stop Westbrook. Edwards, Jackson, Curtis, and Avant will burn the remaining guys.
There is no way they will double-team our receivers because Westbrook or a drafted running back will burn them with the running game and either Jackson, Edwards or our other receivers or tight end will be open.
What you do not want is the Giants having Edwards.
Then they will kill us with their running game and they go back to being the "Beast of the East."
Braylon has shown he can beat our defense and with other talents in the Giants depth chart, he opens up a lot for other players, just like Plaxico Burress did.
To make it worse, what if Plaxico does not go to jail and the Giants do not trade him. That is a nightmare for the Eagles defense.
Burris and Edwards playing side-by-side for bum-ass Eli Manning. Sheeshh. I don't want to think about it.
If Donovan reads this article, please do this: two seasons ago when Tom Brady and Bill Belichik could not get back to the Super Bowl because of the lack of targets, they got Moss from Oakland, traded for Wes Welker and signed Donte Stallworth.
Look at what he did in one season with those toys.
When T.O. was released by the Cowboys, little Trent Edwards text-messaged the General Manager of the Buffalo Bills and they got him.
Mcnabb, please dial up Reid's and the front office number to get you Edwards since they wanted to trade him to the Giants.
