Kansas City Chiefs Release Details for Zoey Belcher Trust Fund

Wednesday, the Associated Press revealed that the NFL's collective bargaining agreement entitles the daughter of Kasandra Perkins and Jovan Belcher, Zoey, to more than $1 million.

Three-month-old Zoey will receive annual payments of $108,000 throughout the next four years. In the fifth year, she will receive $48,000. In every year that follows, Zoey will be given $52,000 until the age of 18 (or 23 if she chooses to attend college). 

It was also noted that the beneficiary of Belcher will be granted $600,000 in life insurance and $200,000 for each credited season. In addition, $100,000 will also be funneled into a retirement account for the beneficiary.

On Friday, the team announced details of Zoey's trust fund via press release. 

Kansas City Chiefs Chairman Clark Hunt offered his sentiments, claiming, "Zoey will always be a part of the Chiefs family, and we hope that this trust will help to ensure she has the resources necessary as she grows up" (via the Kansas City Star).

You can't put a price tag on suffering.

However, it's nice to know that Zoey will be financially secure heading into adulthood.
