India vs New Zeland Second Test Preview

Vishrut AggarwalMar 23, 2009

After winning the first Test against the Kiwis the Indians will be looking to be winning the second test and pocketing the series. Let us have a preview of the game.

The second Test will start on Thursday i.e the 26th of March.

Gautam Gambhir who had not done well in the ODI series has so far done reasonably well in the Test series. He made the mistake of getting Virender Sehwag out but he has batted quite well. He has to stop being greedy and should be patient while stealing singles and doubles.

Sachin Tendulkar has performed really well in the ODI as well as the Test series. He is getting injured quite frequently now but is also playing really well. He has just hit a smashing century in the ODI series and one in the first Test. So there will be a lot of expectations from him.

Yuvraj Singh has not done very well so far in this tour but since this pitch is a batsman's paradise he can put up a good show. He can also chip in with the ball

Virender Sehwag is in red hat form. He did great in the ODI series and should have got the Man of the Series award for it but unfortunately there was no Man of the Series award in the ODI series.

He was unfortunate to get run out in the first Test due to Gautam Gambhir's foolishness but can play well in the second Test. We hope he is fit to play in the second Test because there are a lot of expectations from him.

Harbhajan Singh has bowled really well in the tour as well as the series so far. He grabbed seven wickets in the last match and people will be expecting some outstanding bowling figures from him even in the second match.

Ishant Sharma has done a fair job so far in the series. He took four wickets in New Zealand's first innings and gave away just 73 runs. He has been working on his "no ball problem" and can do well in the next Test.

Zaheer Khan was expensive in New Zealand's first innings but bowled a really tight spell in their second innings. Though he grabbed only three wickets in the match, he can bowl well in the next match. He also did a fabulous job with the bat. So he is in reasonably good form.

Munaf Patel has done well in the first Test. He has grabbed five wickets so far in the series and can do a fair bit of chipping in with the ball.

M.S. Dhoni has done very well in the tour. He as the Indian skipper takes good responsibility for his team and the team has performed well under him, so far. He has also done well with the bat and he has the capability to hold the innings together. So he has a key role to play in the second Test.

I wish India Best of Luck for the second Test and end this article.
