March Madness Opening Round Venue Guide

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is always one of the most anticipated sports events in the country. This year, the First and Second Round Games of the first division are being played at the Greensboro Coliseum, the Sprint Center, the Wachovia Center and the Rose Garden.

The Taco Bell Arena, the UD Arena, the American Airlines Arena, and the HHH Metrodome will also host the games from March 19 to 22.

Take a look at some of the game venues and see what they can offer you, aside from the heart-stopping basketball games, of course.

Greensboro Coliseum Complex (March 19 and 21)

This vast sports complex in Greensboro, N.C. hosts various local and national sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows, conventions, and other performances. 

Especially if you are a visitor, looking for your favorite delicacy will not be hard with the complex being surrounded by more than 500 bars and restaurants offering vast gastronomic delights. These include Adelina's Pizzeria, Akashi Japanese Restaurant, the Acropolis Restaurant, and Barnes and Noble Cafe.

While watching the game, you can order food and beverages from the in-house food establishments, which include Brookwood Farms BBQ, Carvel Ice Cream, Flipside Grill, Dippin Dots, Domino's Pizza, and the Fan Stand.

Sprint Center (March 19 and 21)

This popular arena in Kansas City, Mo. hosts concerts, sporting events, convention, and other performance acts.Kansas City is known for its strip steaks, which should be a good partner when watching the game.

You can fill your before-and-after game stomach with gastronomic delights from various bars and restaurants such as Gates and Sons Bar-B-Q, Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue, and Arthur Bryant's.

Game snacks will not be a problem. You can always order from the arena's food concessionaires, such as Oak Street Pizza, Truman's BBQ, Taco Taco, and Grand Grill. 

Taco Bell Arena (March 20 and 22)

This home arena of the Boise State Broncos is situated at the Boise State University campus in Boise, Idaho.

This multi-purpose complex makes the basketball spectacle complete with food and beverages from Papa John's Pizza, Pretzel Time, and Moxie Java, among the other food establishments offering snacks and meals.

After the game, you and your buddies can have some party at the local bars such as the Blues Bouquet, Barb's Down The Road Tavern, and the Pour House.

University of Dayton Arena (March 20 and 22)

Widely considered as one of the best venues for college basketball events across the country, this sports arena of the University of Dayton in Ohio hosts various athletic and other special events.

Numerous restaurants near the area include Lee's Famous Recipe, Hickory Bar B Que, and Milanos Pizzeria. Choices for bars for the after game parties include Flanagans Pub Inc., Walnut Hills Bar, and Tank's Bar & Grill.
