The JUGGERNAUT rolls on
What is going on?
More than half a billion people in India are getting up at 3 AM! Is it Diwali or some other festival?
No.
Are people crazy then?
Yes! They are crazy about one man. That man is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and he has people crazy about the sport of cricket.
It is the day when people get up and switch on their TV sets, even before heading for a brush. Yes, you guessed right, Sachin Tendulkar batting on 70 overnight, and approaching yet another test ton.
It is a weekday and people need to head for work in a few hours, but nothing stops them from getting up so soon and watching the master in action.
India was already in a commanding position by the end of the second day’s play, but lets forget all that and dwell on the man who batted so magnificently. He showed positive intent from the start of the day’s play, and an hour later went on to bring up test ton number 42 with a flick to the onside.
It was a typical Tendulkar inning. It was full of delightful stroke play with the stamp of a genius.
He did not stop there.
Runs kept flowing from his bat. He brought up his 18th score of 150 or more, and was finally dismissed for 160. All good things have to come to an end, and so it did.
For the millions who were fortunate enough to witness the innings from 3:20 AM to 7 AM in India, their day was made! For all the other cricket lovers in the other parts of the world, it was a delight as usual.
Cheers,
Aswath
