For the Chicago Bears, a New Approach to the 2009 NFL Draft

Here is a new plan for Jerry Angelo on taking a different approach in the 2009 NFL Draft.

JA has got to do something in Free Agency to improve our team instead of signing someone to fill a roster spot. He needs to get someone like Torry Holt and Orlando Pace. Maybe even Derrick Brooks. 

The next thing the bears need to do is trade away their first round pick for a second and a third-round pick. This is because the Bears' priorities have changed from a WR, to an OL, and there isn't enough talent at the spot where they are.

They can get good talent in the second rounds, and they can get extra picks to fill other needs as well.

Second Round: Duke Robinson Oklahoma G/T OL 329 lbs.

Second Round (From Trade): Brian Robiskie Ohio State WR 6'3" 4.53 40.

Third Round: Phillip Hunt DE Houstan may be able to play LB if needed. 6'1" 261 4.65 40 got 14 sacks as a senior and 10.5 sacks as a junior. 

Third Round (From Trade): Sherrod Martin Troy State DB 6'1" 198 lbs 4.52 40 CB/FS. If Martin is gone, get Bruton at free safety as 6'2" 220 lbs 4.46 40.

Third Round (Compensentory): Marcus Freeman LB Ohio State 240 lbs 4.75 40.

Fourth Round: Derrick Williams WR Penn State 6'0" ran a 4.62 at the combine while having the flu. He's very fast though; I'd guess he's more in the 4.5-4.4 range.

Fifth Round: Louis Vasquez OL Texas Tech 333 lbs 39 bench reps can play tackle or Guard.

Final roster after draft, without Jerry Signing anyone in Free Agency because we all know that he doesn't have the balls to sign someone who's at least decent.
