Fantasy Football: Will Danario Alexander Continue to Shine?

Ryan LesterJun 7, 2018

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Danario Alexander has come out of nowhere to make fantasy owners across the globe give thanks for their waiver wire find.

He's undoubtedly been snatched up in most competitive leagues, so this is not a plea for you to hit the waiver wire for DX.

I must mention, if he is available, he should be scooped up immediately.

This is more an examination of whether or not DX should be in your fantasy lineup.

Alexander has always had the talent. What he lacked was an ability to stay healthy.

Obviously, a few games isn't a sure sign that his injury concerns have been put to rest, but his jaw-dropping talent has been on full display.

DX had a decent Week 9, catching three passes for 61 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs. They certainly didn't make fantasy owners jump for joy, but it did serve as a springboard to his recent success.

In Week 10 Alexander took the next step, catching five passes for 134 yards and a score against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. An 80-yard score in the first quarter, mind you.

DX didn't rest on his laurels. He upped his game even more, dropping seven catches for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers have some solid matchups coming up. This week they face the Baltimore Ravens.

They also square off against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Carolina Panthers, the New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders.

As long as he stays healthy, DX figures to be a nice WR2 or WR3. He's fast and his 6'5", 217-pound frame creates instant mismatches.

Ride him while he's hot.
