NBA 2K9 Announces the Return of Gilbert Arenas

Remember a few years back when it surfaced that Michael Jordan would be on the roster of the Washington Wizards in NBA Live 2002, before he actually announced that he was coming out of retirement?

Yeah, good times all around for Washington Wizards fans.

Well, it appears video games have spilled the beans again. After a full season of being on injury reserve and being inactive, the NBA 2K9 online rosters now include Gilbert Arenas as an active member of the Wizards game roster.

He’s not in the starting lineup, but you can bring him off the bench for some much needed offensive help for the woeful squad.

Neither Arenas nor the Washington Wizards have formally announced that he is clear to play, but knowing him, he likely alerted the 2K techs himself to let them know that a comeback was imminent.

Before letting Ed Tapscott or Ernie Grunfeld know about his plans.
