Darren Sharper today has agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints.

Greg Williams has secured yet another great defensive player. The Saints have made some great moves this offseason, but this has to be the best one yet.

Sharper bring's leadership to the locker room. He leads the league in interceptions among active players with 54. He brings playoff experience to the locker room on defense.

Sharper was offered a contract by Chicago, but decided to come south and out of the NFC North for the first time in his career.

Sharper is coming off of a down year for him in interceptions, being that he only had one last year. He is a huge improvement on what the Saints currently had on defense at the safety position.

His career stats are 564 tackles, 7 sacks, 54 interceptions and eight of those have been returned for a touchdown.

With this move the Saints could possibly go from a defensive ranking in the high 20s into having a top 20 to 15 defense. They also picked up a center in free agency yesterday, which means they will draft a linebacker in the upcoming draft with there 14th pick.
