Minnesota Vikings Fit Cutler Best

zach andersenMar 18, 2009

OK, here's the scoop: He is a great quarterback, but can be a bit of a whiner.

Maybe it's the fault of the organization he's with, or maybe he'll be a whiner forever.

But who needs a Pro Bowl-level QB more than...

The Vikings

These guys are my favorite to take him.

They have a great offensive line, even without Matt Birk; remember that they still have Pro Bowler Steve Hutchinson. Cutler would be protected most of the time.

If Jay gets in a slump with this team, just ask Adrian Peterson to take the pigskin, and they'll dominate the ground. With a great deep-ball receiver in Berrian and a young Sidney Rice, he'll have some targets, and likely won't need a bailout.

The Lions

The Lions can and should make a trade. They were 0-16 last year, but now have five of the first 82 draft picks.

They've got a great receiver in Calvin Johnson, so Cutler'd have a target.

But with their O-line, I think Jay will turn his nose up at Detroit.

The 49ers

San Francisco played all last year without a quarterback that can throw.

They have a good running back in Frank Gore. They need a better line, but can still handle some pressure as-is.

The problem here is the dearth of wideouts. Why would Cutler want to go where he'll have no one to throw to?

And to address some of the crazier rumors going around:

Yes, the Pats lost their solid backup, but Cutler is too good to ride bench.

The Cowboys will not trade Romo.

Now that it's become clear the Broncos really and truly did have intentions of dealing him a while ago, this man will not be returning to Denver for the '09 season.
