Roger Federer: 2013 Tour Schedule Sets FedEx Up for Successful Year
The 2013 schedule for Roger Federer has been announced. The Swiss ace is set for a bounce-back season and we have his initial schedule for next season, including his 2012 performance.
Federer had mixed results in 2012, with the highlight being a Wimbledon championship. But he failed to advance to the final in any other major and had to settle for a men's singles silver medal in the Olympics.
His season ended with a ATP World Tour Finals loss to Novak Djokovic.
Those aren't the results Federer expects in the top tournaments, but he had several victories in other events.
He will look to improve his performance in the majors next season.

While winning one major isn't a poor season, reaching just one finals certainly falls short of expectations. Federer has trimmed down his schedule in an apparent effort to maintain better overall health and conditioning.
The notable tournament missing in 2013 is the ATP 1000 of Miami.
Surprisingly, he's also excluded the ATP 500 in Basel. While not a high-profile tournament, it is contested in his hometown.
