5 Outlandish Occurrences That Might Happen at WWE Survivor Series
So much is up in the air going into Survivor Series that speculation around what might happen is rife.
No one is sure who will win either the WWE or World Heavyweight championships, while nearly half the members of the big Survivor Series match are rumored to be turning. Add in the idea that both The Rock and Brock Lesnar could make a surprise appearance, and the pay-per-view is really unpredictable.
Yet one of the brilliant things about the WWE is the underlying chance of something happening that is logical but completely unexpected. This is a list of five such outlandish occurrences that might just happen at Survivor Series.
Brock Lesnar Will Invade the World Heavyweight Title Match
1 of 5Many people suspect that Brock Lesnar could get involved in the WWE title match at Survivor Series due to his connection with business associate Paul Heyman. However, the former UFC champion could also interfere in the World Heavyweight Championship match between behemoths Big Show and Sheamus.
Survivor Series will be the 10-year anniversary of Brock Lesnar’s first loss by pinfall against the Big Show, so revenge may be on Lesnar’s mind.
Equally, Lesnar could be jealous of the Irishman, who is dominating in a fashion that is reminiscent of Lesnar’s initial run, and if true this could set up a showdown between the two at a later date.
WWE Title Match Will Turn Hardcore
2 of 5Little is known about how CM Punk, John Cena and Ryback will gel in the ring together, so to guard against any risks of the match turning into a poor display, the WWE will make sure that the match becomes weapon-enriched early on.
This would certainly help answer the question of how a monster is booked in a three-way dance. Traditionally, three men will start, but one will get knocked out so two men can work, and then the performers take it in turn to have a rest outside a number of planned three-man spots.
Ryback’s character is not really designed to be sidelined for any length of time and that would put a great deal of pressure on a superstar who has only really been in the limelight for a short period.
Weapons can stop even the toughest of men, and that will be the great equalizer on this night to help sort out any potential problems. It might even mean the WWE put on a match that will be shown in black and white on the next episode of Raw.
A 2nd Survivor Series Style Match Will Be Called on the Night
3 of 5Two members of 3MB are due to face Team CoBro on the Survivor Series pre-show. This match will lead to a no-contest via outside interference, and a second Survivor Series style matchup will happen on the main card.
3MB could well be joined by the Prime Time Players, who have not been given an advertised place on the card, while Team CoBro could have the luxury of potentially partnering with any number of individuals, including Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Brodus Clay and several others.
Such a match is likely to be quick and contain several over-the-top spots, but it should also be entertaining and give these characters some well-deserved air time.
Christian Will Return and Will Interfere on the Behalf of Antonio Cesaro
4 of 5Christian has been away from the ring for some time, so his return would be a big extra moment for Survivor Series, but it would be made even more intriguing if he aligns himself with United States Champion Antonio Cesaro.
A proud Canadian, Christian has been in anti-American angles before, so he would be the perfect backup for Cesaro. It would also make logical sense as he has been kept down in the company—for unknown reasons—and his nationality could be blamed.
If nothing else, this would create a nice little team that would provide solid wrestling and an interesting midcard feud on SmackDown. It would be something that could only improve the product overall.
Mick Foley Will Partner a Budding Superstar to Screw His Own Team
5 of 5For some time, Mick Foley has been wandering around in the WWE without much purpose, but through this period he has been sharpening his microphone skills.
Sunday’s Survivor Series will be the moment where the practicing for Foley stops and he finally endorses a wrestler for him to take to the top. Nothing makes more of a statement than being the last man standing in a Survivor Series matchup.
This could mean that Foley goes with Wade Barrett and leads his team into a trap, but the man of multiple personalities could as easily partner up with a member of his own team, like Kofi Kingston, in order to both win the match and destroy his teammates.
This launch of a new star partnership will go down as an important moment in the WWE.
