Buffalo Bills Defense Finally Shows Up, and More AFC East News
The Buffalo Bills spent a lot of resources on the defensive side of the ball. They finally got some return on that investment on Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins.
The Bills held the Dolphins to 184 yards, 3-of-10 on third down conversions, a paltry 3.3 yards per offensive play and held Ryan Tannehill to a 46.9 passer rating.
It may not seem like much, but those are all marks where Buffalo ranked in the bottom 10 of the league on average headed into Thursday night's game.
Granted, it came against a Dolphins offense which ranked in the bottom half of the league in all those indicators and in the bottom five in passer rating, yards per play and yards per game.ย
But for a defense that's struggled as much as Buffalo's has, they have to take it one step at a time.
There are a lot of reasons for this statistical success, so here's a wrap-up of some news and analysis from Thursday night's game and from all around the AFC East.
