Would It Matter If BJ Mullens Was in the Game More?
Reports after the Ohio Stateloss to Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament said that B.J. Mullens was complaining about the amount of time he was playing. He was saying he could not get into rhythm because he didn’t see the court enough.
Would it make any difference to this Ohio Stateteam if Mullens was out there more?
Mullens is a young player and has talent, but he is no where near where he can be. Dallas Lauderdale is doing a fine job being a starting center for the team and Mullens gives a good boost off the bench.

Mullens should not be complaining about playing time when he doesn’t do a whole bunch when he’s on the court. He gets cheap fouls, he’s turned the ball over I don’t know how many times when the team has tried to get it to him, and hasn’t had as many blocks as Lauderdale.
He is saying he hasn’t been able to get into rhythm, but that is what the shoot around is for. Coach Matta has Lauderdale starting for a reason, and I think it’s because Dallas puts the team at a bigger advantage to be productive.
There has been talk about him leaving for the NBA after the season, but he can’t even be dominant in college. He is a young talent, but if he wants to be in the NBA posting up Dwight Howard and Shaq he better listen to what Matta has to say.
Out of the all the centers of the decade Mullens is towards the bottom right now. He’s had the best percentage of shots go in, but they were right next to the basket. Kosta Koufus was very mobile for his height and If he stayed I think the Buckeyes could have been a better team. I would love to see Mullens try to do what Greg Oden has.
All these seven foot guys think they could make it in the NBA just because of their size, but the league is full of seven foot men floating around.
I like Mullens, but the young player needs to shut his mouth and focus on getting better.
