Official 2009 SJ Mock Draft

1. Detroit - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia
Staying with this one until we hear something different out of Detroit.

2. St. Louis - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
Easy pick with the release of Orlando Pace.

3. Kansas City - Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
No more QB possibilities here...

4. Seattle - BJ Raji, DT, Boston College
Always looking for D-line upgrades in Seattle.

5. Cleveland - Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, Penn State
Just a hunch.

6. Cincinnati - Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
Steps in to protect Carson Palmer’s blindside.

7. Oakland - Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri
Al Davis likes speed and it’s fairly apparent by now that Al always gets what he wants.

8. Jacksonville - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
Need help on the outside, especially with the release of Matt Jones.

9. Green Bay - Brian Orakpo, DE/OLB, Texas
Instant pass rush for the new 3-4.

10. San Francisco - Brian Cushing, OLB, Southern Cal
So many holes to fix, anything is possible.

11. Buffalo - Everette Brown, DE, Florida State
Signing T.O. lets the Bills go on the defensive.

12. Denver - Rey Maualuga, ILB, Southern Cal
May only be a run stuffer, but that's what the Broncos have been missing for years.

13. Washington - Malcolm Jenkins, CB/S, Ohio State
The 'Skins need help at both positions, so there...

14. New Orleans - Louis Delmas, S, Western Michigan
May be a little early, but the Saints really need help in the secondary.

15. Houston - Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois
Need to find the replacement for disgruntled, franchised corner Dunta Robinson.

16. San Diego - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
Perfect fit at 3-4 End to replace departed Igor Olshansky.

17. NY Jets - Michael Johnson, DE/OLB, Georgia Tech
There's always a pick that comes out of nowhere...why not come from the Jets?

18. Chicago - DJ Moore, CB, Vanderbilt
Possible replacement for Nathan Vasher and could give Hester a break on returns.

19. Tampa Bay - Matt Sanchez, QB, Southern Cal
Match made in football heaven.

20. Detroit (f/DAL) - Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee
With the QB out of the way, time to fix the pathetic Detroit defensive line.

21. Philadelphia - Chris "Beanie" Wells, RB, Ohio State
Need to get some help for Westbrook, especially with Delmas off the board.

22. Minnesota - Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
The Vikes already have the big possession receivers, just need to add a little speed.

23. New England - Clay Matthews, OLB, Southern California
The Patriots are still trying to get younger on defense.

24. Atlanta - Jared Cook, TE, South Carolina
Every quarterback loves a receiving tight end and Cook is the best in the class at that.

25. Miami - Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina
Big target with great hands, seems pretty obvious.

26. Baltimore - Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest
The Ravens really need to add youth to the secondary.

27. Indianapolis - Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss
It seems like the Colts are always in need of defensive line help.

28. Philadelphia (f/CAR) - Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
Big fall for a big man and this might still be a reach for him...

29. NY Giants - James Laurinaitis, MLB, Ohio State
With major additions to the defensive line, the G-Men need to solidify their linebacking corps.

30. Tennessee - Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland
Sure the Titans don't go with receivers in the first, but he actually is the best player available.

31. Arizona - Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia
Replaces Edge who wants to leave anyways.

32. Pittsburgh - Alex Mack, C, California
Could play any of the interior positions.
