NFL Scores Week 10: Impressive Upsets That Will Spark Winning Streaks

Ben ChodosJun 7, 2018

The twists and turns kept coming in Week 10 of the NFL season and a few teams built momentum with unexpected victories.

Just as a terrible performance can set the tone for a poor outing in the next game (see: Chargers vs. Broncos, Week 6), a strong outing can propel a team to more victories. This was the case when the Minnesota Vikings started a three-game winning streak with an incredible win over the San Francisco 49ers.

There were a few more victories that few fans saw coming this week, and these impressive upsets will help spark runs for teams that need wins badly.

Here are the teams that surprisingly won this week and will continue coming out on top in the near future.

New Orleans Saints 31, Atlanta Falcons 27

The Saints are technically already on a winning streak after beating the Philadelphia Eagles last week, but this team will keep rolling after handing the Falcons their first loss of the season.

Drew Brees has led New Orleans to four victories in its last five games, and this team is full of confidence after its latest win.

The defense finally started to pull some weight as it came through in crucial moments during the contest, but it was still up to Brees and the offense to score 31 points and gain 440 total yards.

This will cause a massive morale boost in New Orleans and the Saints will win a third game in a row as they hand the Oakland Raiders their second consecutive blowout loss next weekend.

Cincinnati Bengals 31, New York Giants 13

The Bengals win over the Giants was surprising, but their dominance in this game was completely shocking.

Andy Dalton carved up the New York secondary and threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers.

The Bengals opened up a 14-point lead within the first five minutes of the game, and never trailed by less than 11 after that. The Giants never had a chance in this game.

This was Cincinnati’s first win in five attempts, and now the team faces soft matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders in the next two weeks. The Bengals will win both of these games easily and get back above .500 on the season.

Tennessee Titans 37, Miami Dolphins 3

While this victory was not as surprising as the other upsets, the manner in which the Titans defeated the Dolphins was incredibly unexpected.

The Dolphins came into this game having won three of their last four games. After losing handily to the Houston Texans in the season opener, all three of Miami’s subsequent defeats were by just three points.

Tennessee had severely struggled at times during this year, particularly on defense, but the Titans forced four turnovers in this game and completely shut down Miami’s offense.

After being blown out against the Chicago Bears last week, a loss to Miami likely would have led to most NFL fans seeing the Titans’ upcoming matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a toss-up. But now, Tennessee will carry the momentum it gained in this week’s impressive victory into another win next Sunday.
