A Report On World Cup Cricket: NOT The One in Which India Got Out Early!
This is the topic which so far has not really been discussed on B/R Cricket.
This is the Women's World Cup.
I was particularly surprised when Rocky Getters who expresses his interest for blondes in every possible way did not write about this either.
But never mind that now let's get on to what happened during the tourney.
New Zealand, Australia, England, India, Pakistan and West Indies entered the super six stages of the tournament.
Currently England lead the table with four wins Followed by the New Zealanders who are a pretty strong team. They are followed by the Aussie beauties the previous year's world champs who have had a mixed bag this year and with Indian Women at the fourth spot.
Pakistan and WI are who have been beaten by all the other teams.
Right now it is tough to say who out of the top four will finally win the competition but I can definitely say that England and New Zealand seem to be the best place in stats and even otherwise base on form as the best two teams.
I will not go into the Individual stats as they are time consuming and boring but I have a lot more to say:
Women's cricket is something like the way men's cricket was in the late '80s and early '90s. Low scores, long innings without a huge score.
But does it make it any less fun? No, not at all.
In fact some of the bowling and batting you see on the cricketing field is pretty good and very effective too.
Most importantly the players on the field always enjoy the match irrespective of who is winning and who is losing. There is a lot More innocence in their cricket. It is a shame that people do not care very much about it.
The lack of writing about this tournament also reflect that our societies are still Male dominated and females are still thought to be secondary in everything but domestic work
Did you know that Jhulan Goswami, the Indian team pace Spearhead and the current team captain is the fastest woman bowler in the world?
If you support women's cricket give me a POTD. I will count it as one more person who is not a male chauvinist
