Everton 2-1 Sunderland: Full Time

Despite going up in the dying moments of the first half, Sunderland's hopes of a rare win at Goodison were dashed following a second half turnaround by the hosts.

Marouane Fellaini proved to be orchestrator supreme for David Moyes' side, scoring himself before setting up Nikica Jelavic a minute later.

The three points ensures that Everton remain amongst the top four of the English top flight, whereas the disappointment continues for the unfortunate Black Cats.

Everton Starting XI: Howard; Coleman, Baines, Heitinga, Jagielka; Mirallas, Pienaar, Osman, Neville, Fellaini; Jelavic

Everton Subs: Mucha, Oviedo, Naismith, Distin, Hitzlsperger, Gueye, Vellios

Scorers: Fellaini (76'), Jelavic (78')

Sunderland Starting XI: Mignolet; Gardner, Rose, Cuellar, O'Shea (c); Larsson, Colback; McClean, Johnson Sessegnon; Fletcher

Sunderland Subs: Westwood, Bramble, Kilgallon, Saha, Wickham, McFadden
