Finally the Raiders seem to be on the right track for moving the team forward. In past years, Al Davis has spent megabucks on "Big Name" free agents that didn't help the team very much.
While Jim Plunkett, Rod Martin, Ronnie Lott and James Lofton really helped the team, Warren Sapp, Larry Brown, Desmond Howard and the trio from last year (DeAngelo Hall, Gibril Wilson, Javon Walker) didn't do much for the Silver and Black. Sapp had a couple of pretty good years but didn't live up to the price that was paid for him.
It's time for the Raiders to draft wisely, like the Pittsburgh Steelers. All of the First Round busts can really show what I am saying. Mo Collins was fair; Tyler Brayton, Phillip Buchanon, Fabian Washington, Napoleon Harris, Michael Huff were wasted picks.
Robert Gallery is doing good at left guard but he hasn't lived up to the hype that surrounded him coming out of college. It's time for Al to hire a general manager to get the team going in the proper direction and become a power again in the AFC.
