Brian Roberts Represents Baltimore Orioles Well in WBC
If youโre an Oโs fan that hasnโt been enjoying the World Baseball Classic then you havenโt watched enough of this amazing event.
Ok, I know that Jeremy Guthrieโs outing wasnโt exactly how Baltimore wanted to be represented. But fear not, because representation for Charm City sometimes comes in a small package, his name is Brian Roberts.
Last night in Miami vs. The Netherlands
Three-for-3, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB - Roberts was a home run away from hitting for the cycle in the USโs 9-3 win over the Netherlands. After his single, double and triple (that was just shy of a home run in center field), the Dutch pitched around Roberts the rest of the night.
He was called upon yesterday because of the injury to Dustin Pedrioa and Roberts appears to already be in midseason form. His defense was spot on and he was crushing the ball from the left side of the plate.
The US plays the loser of Venezuela and Puerto Rico on Tuesday at 7 PM and are one loss away from elimination.
