The trade itself may come as a surprise to some given the character concerns that have seemingly followed Talib around with him since entering the league in 2008 as a first-round pick.

He has been arrested on multiple occasions in his five professional seasons, most recently in 2011 in his native Texas, when he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The latest charges were eventually dropped.
Talib, currently serving a league-issued four-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, is eligible to return to football activities next Monday.
UPDATE (5:50pm): The details of the trade have been announced. The Patriots will receive Talib and Tampa Bay's 2013 seventh-round pick in exchange for New England's 2013 fourth-round selection.
