2012 Fantasy Football Team Defense Rankings: NFL Week 9
With an exciting eighth week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 9 fantasy football team defense rankings.
1. Green Bay Packers
The Packers rank 12th in scoring defense (21.3 ppg) and 13th in total defense (342.1 ypg). They are tied for the lead league with 26 sacks. They face the Cardinals, who rank 31st in scoring offense (15.9) and 31st in total offense (289.9) and have allowed a league-high 39 sacks.

2. Chicago Bears
The opportunistic Bears rank seventh in total defense (316.0) and second in scoring defense (14.3). They face the Titans, who rank 24th in total offense (326.6) and 21st in scoring offense (20.3). If the Bears’ league-best run defense can contain Chris Johnson, there is trouble for the Titans.
3. Detroit Lions
The Lions rank ninth in total defense (326.4) and 23rd in scoring defense (24.9). They face the Jaguars, who rank dead last in both categories (250.9, 14.7).
4. San Diego Chargers
The Chargers rank 10th in total defense (326.6) and are tied for ninth in scoring defense (20.6). They face the Chiefs, who rank 12th in total offense (367.3) and are tied for 28th in scoring offense (17.1). They rank second in run defense, and the Chiefs often forget to get Jamaal Charles involved.
5. Seattle Seahawks
Seattle ranks fifth in run defense, which is the only thing the Vikings have going for them. They also rank fifth in total defense (312.0) and third in scoring defense (16.8). Ponder is out of sync, and playing in Seattle won’t help.
6. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens had a bye to try to figure out how to deal with all the injuries. They get Cleveland, who ranks 29th in total offense (314.8) and 25th in scoring offense (19.3).
7. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are reeling a bit but had some extra time to lick their wounds. They rank 11th in both total defense (331.8) and scoring defense (20.9). They get the Seahawks, who rank 30th in total offense (303.0) and 27th in scoring offense (17.5).
8. Houston Texans
I don’t love the matchup with Buffalo from a defensive standpoint, but this is the team that ranks third in total defense (283.0) and sixth in scoring defense (18.3).
9. Miami Dolphins
They are truly an underrated defensive unit. They rank 22nd in total defense (363.0) and fifth in scoring defense (18.0). The Colts move the chains but only rank 24th in scoring (19.4).
10. Denver Broncos
The Broncos are playing some really good football. They rank eighth in total defense (319.3) and 14th in scoring defense (21.7). They get the Bengals, who are middle-of-the-road in both total and scoring offense.
